So much to read and digest. The tent pegs are always a good place to return to when Iām feeling out of balance. Thank you Thank you Thank you šš¾
As ever the timing of your writing is perfect Donna. Having undergone drastic, hopefully life changing/saving surgery last week I have needed every anchor and tool available to me to withstand the recovery process. This may freak you out a little but I have prayed to you every single day to help get me through this, (not in a deity kind of way š but with faith in all that you teach) so thank you for that Donna. Thereās a journey and a half ahead for me but Iām all in so every peg will need a bit of attention along the way š
Thank you so much Carly. Iām just over a week post op and feeling very grateful and absolutely in awe of the human body. How wonderful are we that we can heal the way we do. I know Iāve got a way to go but I mean WOW just WOW xx
The tent pegs- A huge shift in priorities, mindset and values was needed to appreciate this fully. I am not invincible and infinite, I can crumble and become weak and that is okay x
I like the metaphor of the tent pegs and doing a weekly / monthly check in to see which are firmly in the ground and those that are bit wobbly or even popped out! We babysat my 8 week old grand-daughter for the first time recently and I found myself getting quite stressed. I felt this overwhelming responsibility and my ego had a little freak. I realised that itās been pretty full on since her birth supporting Mama & baby and maybe Iām not looking after me enough !!! I was tempted to give myself a hard time and to ruminate on some thoughts but tried to sit with the discomfort. Make myself transparent as Eckhart Tolle says , let everything pass through you ⦠easier said than done! Double breaths in ⦠long breath out. A day of Pilates training was fun and creative and gave me space from everyone. On the train home, I realised I had not been spending enough time on my spiritual connection, longer faith walks in nature are especially soothing for me. The creativity and connection pegs are definitely the ones I need to gently hammer back in šš¼š§” Thank you šš»
