Spiritual Signs: a definition = ‘winks or nudges from the Universe, guiding us towards greater wisdom, truth, and peace’. (Mateo)
It made absolutely no sense for me to go to LA. In fact, there were more reasons why not to go - like having very limited funds in the bank and having recently moved house, which was expensive and unsettling. I had also been unwell for some time, leaving me fatigued and low on energy, and perhaps most importantly, I had never felt any real desire to go to LA! However, I trust in Life completely, and I do believe in following the signs we are shown along life’s path. Signs for me are like a series of loving post it notes from the Universe, gently nudging me to ‘walk this way’.
Signs can show up in many forms, like dreams, visions, song lyrics, images, words, colours, flowers, people, birds, animals and unexpected circumstances. All signs are believed to carry some kind of message or guidance for us, and some are more obvious to understand than others. The main thing with signs is that we have to be open to receiving them, and then get still enough to notice what we are being shown. Some people are guided more by symbols, like seeing certain numbers or letter sequences, or perhaps noticing butterflies, rainbows or feathers arriving at significant moments. Indigenous people of course have never questioned the significance of signs and symbols, and understand that this is how we are in harmony, and work with the flow of life.
Signs for me are a bit like an exciting and sometimes mysterious treasure hunt laid out for us by the Universe. Each clue we are given, leads us to the next one, and then the next, until ultimately we discover the hidden treasure that awaits us. But we can only get there, if we dare to notice..and to follow the signs.
