Honestly this is epic. It had me laughing, crying, smiling & everything in between. You are a genius with words, an amazing sharer of wisdom & a stunning tree.

We need you on a real podcast & we need your next book!

No bias here…just stating truth ♥️♥️♥️

I loved this. This morning I ventured out earlier than I normally do and visited a large redwood in my local park. You have woken me up to these giant trees. The energy under its branches is wonderful. I needed it so much to ground me after a horrendous day yesterday with my mother who is fighting death with all her might. (What else did I expect?) I did forget my offering though so thanks for that reminder. I am still laughing about that poor jogger. Xx

So glad you have found your way to the redwoods! They are true elders of the tree world. I hope they sustain you at this challenging time. May your mum finally surrender to the unknown and find the peace she deserves. And so it is xxx ps. Yes poor jogger looked genuinely terrified 😂❤️

Love this - another brilliantly engaging and thought provoking piece(funny too!) I don’t ‘hear’ the words of the trees (yet) but I always feel my scattered mind becomes uncluttered and clear when I go to my favourite tree - like it’s absorbing the nonsense from my head. Trees are ace! Thanks, as always ❤️

yes Tina, I love that feeling of the trees absorbing our busy bee head nonsense! Next step...listen for the whispers within the emptiness. Loving you xx

This is so brilliant! I am off to visit a favourite little young oak that we found on the edge of a bit of woodland on our smallholding - it was being overshadowed and depleted of nutrients by the massive conifers all around it when we moved in 5 years ago. We tidied up a bit and now I get great joy in watching it grow and thrive! It feels like something we don’t get to do very often, watching a tree grow. And now I need to go and marvel and think about that 3D aspect of growth - love the idea of doing and being more of that! Thank you Donna xx

Loved this today, and laughed very loudly at your Xmas pressie request!

We are building a new home, and there’s an oak tree at the bottom of the garden where I’m going to create a mini woodland garden.

I’m going to start speaking to the tree now, to apologise for the noise, and to let it know that I’m looking forward to spending years of my life with it.

Hope you’re feeling better!

A walking tree. What a beautiful and powerful image. I find a walk in the trees one of life’s most restorative rituals (I’ve actually just come back from one!). Embodying that strength and wisdom sounds magical. 🌳💚🧡💚🌳

I couldn't love this article more. I have already found my tree friend but have never offered her gifts or taken the time to sit and journal with her so I will definitely be doing more of that! Just yesterday (before I read this) I was in the woods marvelling at how inter-connected the trees were (date with wonder?). Thank you Donna for your words and for always helping me to remember what I forget. Loads of love xx

PS I also love Liz Gilberts new book, it's absolutely beautiful and honest and raw. I don't read reviews :)

PPS - I am away for the next Silent Sisterhood walk sadly but i will do my own walk instead x
